The red top serum tube is a chemistry staple, and the BD Vacutainer 367812 is the 4 mL version with the BD Hemogard closure. The silicone-coated tube wall and clot activator work together to speed up clot formation so you can get to centrifugation faster. The BD Hemogard closure keeps the rubber stopper recessed — any blood left by the needle stays isolated, and there's less splatter risk when you open it at the bench.
